RE: I 81 VA cg for overnight suggestion

I was going to suggest Candy Hill. We were there last year and enjoyed it. I can't tell you about this time of year though. That may ba a problem for some places. andy Hill is off the interstate, but is off a by-pass I think.

RE: Halloween Camping In Pa

Better look now, things around here go fast. We made our Hallooween reservations (actually all of October) at Eagles Peak back during the winter or late last year. Any big weekend around here goes way to fast. And then you have one campground closed in the area to make it worse.

RE: Pa to Orlando, Fl .....best Route

When we went down last year, we used I-81 to I-77 etc. as stated above. Someone else we knew asked AAA about that since they were planning on using I-95 all the way. AAA said our route is a little longer, but it is quicker. I will go this way again whenever we return there.

RE: Sills family camp ground

We liked the campground as a whole, and we were in a group, but we were not crazy about how close together we were.

RE: Ice chest cooler vs small refrigerator

I use a cooler, but I also have an ice machine along to add ice to it. Then I also have the ice for smoothies or whatever else may be wanted.

RE: Western Pa., places to stay, things to do

We go to Parker Dam state Park every year now, and then head up to see PA's Elk. Nice area of the state. We were at Canaan Valley a few years ago and loved it. My daughter had deer smelling her hand. And We missed seeing a bear there early in the morning. But you may get some masked visiters at night. My wife thought it was a bear, but I heard them chattering and knew it was racoons.

RE: Forest River Wildcat Gel Coat Bubble/Delamination

I have my 'Cat in the shop now. Mine bubbled in the rear on the curb side last year, and just recently the rear on the driver side. Supposed to get it back tomorrow or Tuesday. Leaving Thursday for a pig roast at a campground in Sullivan County, PA.

RE: Dodge vs. GMC vs Ford 3500

Make a list of what you want to have in the truck, and then compare the brands. I did that when looking for mine. I was always a GM guy, was expecting to get a Dodge, but ended up with the Ford.

RE: Ultra Low Sulpher Diesel

Do watch the pump stickers. I know of at least 2 Sunoco stations near me that still have the LSD.

RE: Campsites with Lakes near Mohnton, PA ?

I just did the search for Blue Falls Grove, but could not find the item I read before. Maybe it was somewhere else on the net. But my comments are still the same. I just wish I could remember where I read the comment.

RE: Campsites with Lakes near Mohnton, PA ?

If you go farther north of Blue Falls, you will get to Robin Hill and Mountain Springs.

RE: Campsites with Lakes near Mohnton, PA ?

I think Sun Valley has a "pond" there, and is close to Lake in Wood.

RE: Campsites with Lakes near Mohnton, PA ?

You will not like Blue Falls Grove. Do a search here and I think you will get some hits. As I remember, the last person I heard that stayed there left after one night. My son went there with a group of people swimming, and said the pool is is not good at all. It used to be a nice place for picnics and swimming, but over the years they let it go down hill.

RE: Oversize tires

Most likely reason someone would go with a bigger tire is price. Usually the taller tire in the same width can be found cheaper, but it will cause it to not handle as well also.

RE: PA to Disney Fort Wilderness end of August

I take it you are a little more South-east of me. We went I-78 to I-81. Then I-77 and eventually got on I-95 down in the Carolinas I think. We heard from someone else that was going to use I-95, and then heard what we were doing, that AAA said our route was a little longer, but quicker.

RE: hot water smell??

Another possible reason could be how long of a time between camping trips ? It may still be related to the other reasons. I used to leave the water go in the system, but on longer intervals between camping, we would have an odor. So I started draining it if we were not going back out camping shortly. We have not had that problem now in years.

RE: Tri Cities Tennessee

Off hand I would say Bays Mountain park outside of Kingsport would be a nice place to visit. Stop by Bristol Speedway if you like that. And there is a great BBQ dinner near there called Ridgewood. There are a few nice lakes in the area with Parks. Need to have a better idea of what you like, and how far out from the Tri-cities you may travel. It was 20 years ago when I moved back here after living there for 8 years. It is a beautifil area, and I wish I still lived there. Have a good trip, and don't hesitate to ask anything else. I am sure I will remember more later, plus there are a few on here from the area. For a campground, we stayed at the KOA and liked it, but it is closer together then we prefer.

RE: Cabelas Hamburg PA

I would agree with the Robin Hill suggestion, and go with Mtn. Springs as a close second. I think Mtn Springs is actually the closest, and easiest trip to Cabelas, but all are still within minutes.

RE: Looking for CG near Bristol TN with hiking near by

You may want to try this park. No sewer hook-up though. But a popular place. I never stayed there as I lived about 2 miles away. A friend of mine has stayed there several times and likes it. Warriors Path State Park

RE: Is the F250 enough truck?

I would suggest the F-350. I thought the 250 would be enough, but the pin weight can get to be an issue. Otherwise it would be OK. And your trailer weights are higher then mine, so I would say you would be happier with the F-350 for that reason.
